Based in New York, Gurru Anvekar is a filmmaker from India. ​

 

Gurru's approach is rooted in his fascination with the medium of film combined with his background in architecture: an interplay between scales and proportions; mindful of the bodies traversing through light and shadow, through space and time.  Films that aspire to make the man and his mise-en-scène one, even if for a moment.

He also just edits fun stuff sometimes, like drinking games for YouTubers.

Gurru holds an MFA in Cinema Arts from Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College.
